How Much Does Christmas Light Installation Cost in Maine and New Hampshire?

Updated: 6 days ago
It is the first question most people ask, and a fair one. For the average 3 to 4 bedroom home in our area, professional Christmas light installation typically runs from $2,000 to $3,500 for the season.
Where your home falls in that range, or outside it, depends on the design. Here is what is included and what moves the number.
What is included
A display designed for your home
Commercial-grade LED lights, plus wreaths and garland if you want them. You do not buy or own the lights.
Professional installation
Maintenance during the season. If something stops working, we come out and fix it.
Takedown after the holidays
Storage until next year
What changes the price
The roofline
The length of the roofline is the biggest factor. A simple ranch with one long eave takes less material and time than a two-story home with several peaks and dormers.
Trees and shrubs
A tightly wrapped tree takes a lot of lights and a lot of labor. One feature tree near the road is very different from wrapping every tree on the property.
Windows, entries and greenery
Window outlines, lit wreaths, garland around the front door and ground lighting each add to the design.
Height and access
Steep roofs, tall peaks and hard-to-reach areas take more time and equipment.

How this compares with doing it yourself
Doing it yourself costs less in dollars. You buy the lights, clips, cords and timers, replace what fails each year, and find somewhere to store it all. The real cost is time and risk: a weekend on a ladder in November, another in January, and a trip back up every time a strand goes out.
With a full-service installation, the price covers the whole season, and you do not go on the roof.
Larger homes, businesses and towns
Larger homes and more involved designs run higher than the range above. Businesses and towns are quoted by project. Call 207-510-4893 and we will talk it through.
